Intensive Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were wounded.

The assaults succeed periods of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
